Ventanas de Mirador

Here in the north of Spain, ventanas de mirador or bay windows feature on most of the old buildings.

Enclosed so the view can be enjoyed even in the wet weather...... it is called Green Spain for a reason!!
We are staying in the seaside town of Castro Urdiales, which has some fine examples of these windows.

Setting off for Kensington

I'm just about to set off for Kensington town hall, to set up my stand for The Kensington Dollshouse Festival which is taking place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Kit of the Month

This kit contains all three Auriculas......no need to make a difficult choice!
Auriculas are a member of the primula family, much prized for their distinctive markings and the floury white centres of their flowers.

More Pansies

First of all a warm welcome to all the latest people who have joined this blog, Those of you who have blogs, I've been trying to add you to my bloglist, but for some reason or other Blogger is not playing nicely and won't let me. I'll keep trying!!

I just couldn't resist showing you how sweet the Large Pansies look in individual pots!

This month's kit is 10 large pansies, they come in a choice of two mixed colours pinks/purples and reds/yellows.

Although I have shown them all grouped together in one pot, they look absolutely charming in single tiny pots.

I've used tiny pieces of a foam type moss for the foliage, if you want that as well a small bag is 50p.

Welcome to The Miniature Garden

A huge thank you to everyone who has joined this blog, I'm tickled pink to see what an international bunch we are...........the wonders of the internet never cease to amaze me! And to think that only a year ago I could barely send an e-mail.
It's amazing how something you love can spur you on to learn new skills, and believe me I'm still learning. I can't tell you how proud of myself I was when I managed to add a facebook badge to this blog..........then I added my blog list........well it is a miracle I can get through my workroom door, my head is so big!!!
So I hope you will come along with me on this voyage of all things computery and miniature.

I'll leave you with a couple of vignettes of my 1/24th scale work.
The first shows a weathered potting bench, pots of geraniums and busy lizzies or impatiens.

The next is a spring scene with tulips,iris and auriculas. The table and chairs were bought a very long time ago from In Some Small Way.

I really love working in this smaller scale and plan to bring out more kits later this year.
