I had a wonderful day on Saturday, we were steadily busy all day and I only sat down for the length of time it took to eat a sandwich. To say I was tired by the time I reached home at 8.00pm is an understatement!!
I decided not to take my big heavy wooden stand, my back has not been behaving itself lately so I thought I wouldn't tempt fate, so I built a display from the white storage boxes that are used in my workroom. Thank you Ikea!!
Having used them once, I so like the ease of transporting them that with some modifications.....flat panels of card to stand everything on......I think I'll use them again in May.
So here are a couple of photos of my stand at the show.......sorry about the quality, I had to use the flash on my little point and shoot camera......never a good idea.
It was so lovely to see lots of familiar faces, I hope you are planning to come to London in May, I'm brimming with new ideas and enthusiasm.......must start making things very soon.
The flower arrangers table you can see in the picture was made by my very talented sister Liz from my flower kits. Liz helps me at Miniatura and Kensington, I couldn't do it without her.....Thanks Liz xxx

Kit of the Month
I've chosen Echeveria to be kit of the month. Quote DEC11 on any order and during December the 1/12th kit will cost £1.75 instead of £3.50 and the 1/24th kit will cost £1.60 instead of £3.20 I'll include a small packet of grit to dress the tops of the pots in both scales.
This is a super easy kit which contains 6 plants, you can see how sweet they look in individual pots and grouped in a larger pot.

The Christmas Festival
I am busy getting ready for the Christmas Kensington Dollshouse Festival, which takes place this Saturday at Kensington Town Hall. Actually busy is rather an understatement, headless chicken mode is more like it!
Thought you might like to see a small Christmas table that will be on my stand along with a Bay Tree, which I also sell as a kit.
And here are some individual little Christmas pieces, sitting on a large vintage cotton reel.
If you are visiting the Festival please come and say hello, and if you haven't bought your ticket yet I have a free ticket to give away, go to my facebook page, the first one to leave a comment gets the ticket, I'll leave it at the desk for you.

Finished! Welcome to my Catalogue
I am delighted to say that my pricelists and pictures of my flower kits are now on this blog!!
Just click on the titles in the boxes below the blog heading and you will see what I mean. I've split the 1/12th scale kits into sections, so there aren't yards of pictures to scroll through. But if you have any suggestions that would make the whole process easier please leave a comment and I'll see what I can do.
Sometimes there is a glaringly obvious improvement which needs a customer to point it out. As long as it doesn't involve writing html code, I'll give it a try!
Thanks for your encouraging words and welcome to my catalogue, remember to use the code NOV11 to get a 10% discount on all kits and sundries throughout November

Dropbox Disaster!!
What a disaster, those of you who have asked for the link to my catalogue and pricelists will know what Dropbox is. I thought it was a really good idea......until today!!
This morning a sharer of my catalogue managed to delete the whole thing......not so bad, I managed to undelete all the pictures and price lists. But then, I decided to remove this person from the list of sharers, just because if they had deleted everything from their computer then they obviously didn't want to be on the list. And I didn't want to give them the opportunity to delete everything again!!!
But they say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, and this is so true when it comes to me and computers, anyway to cut a long story short I managed to delete everything......files, pictures, price lists and all the names and e-mails of the sharers.........I can tell you the air was blue, actually more indigo!....even I didn't know I knew so many swear words!!!
So if you are thinking of looking at my catalogue and pictures on Dropbox I'm sorry they no longer exist.
But all is not lost, after much thought I have decided to add all the pictures and pricelists to pages on this blog. look under the main title and you will see a line of boxes with titles. Click on these to see the content.
Obviously it is going to take a while to put everything on here so please bear with me, and if you have read all the way down to here.....Thank you.
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend

Life imitates miniatures.......again
I made this cacti and succulent potting bench and sold it at the Kensington Dollshouse Festival in May.
Then I saw this collection of Sempevivums at the garden centre and my miniature potting bench came to mind, and inspired real life gardening........again. Funny how often this happens!

Kit of the Month
Lovely papery Scabious, sometimes known as The Pincushion Flower because of its plump centre. I bought a bunch of these in real life, so decided to make them kit of the month.
No leaves with this kit, so they are really only suitable as cut flowers. Unless you want to make your own!
You probably know the drill by now! Just quote JUL11 on any order and you will receive this kit half price, £1.75 instead of £3.50.
I also have the jugs available, they cost £3.50 each.

Potting Up
I have just returned from a quick visit to the garden centre to buy some plants for my real life pots.
Here is my inspiration, a 1/12th scale potting bench with geraniums.
Hopefully I will be doing this soon..............if only it would stop raining long enough for me to go outside and get on with it.
Have a lovely weekend doing what you enjoy!

Next Door Neighbour
Our next door neighbours in Castro live in the Palacio de Ocharan. Built in 1901 and designed by the architect Eladio Laredo in the style of an Italian villa. It is decorated with ceramic tiles by Daniel Zuloaga.
Privately owned, it has high fences made of wrought iron in an Egyptian design, original to the house.
Imagine spending the summer at the seaside in a house like this!

Ventanas de Mirador
Here in the north of Spain, ventanas de mirador or bay windows feature on most of the old buildings.
Enclosed so the view can be enjoyed even in the wet weather...... it is called Green Spain for a reason!!We are staying in the seaside town of Castro Urdiales, which has some fine examples of these windows.
